Love NowRoz Festival? Passionate about the community? Want to “make a difference”? Then be a part of our volunteer team and our exciting annual event!
The Annual NowRoz Festival is looking for dedicated, energetic, and passionate volunteers and interns to help with this years festival. Positions range from a day during the festival, to part-time or full-time internships lasting several months. Whether you can tear a ticket, wrangle a guest itinerary, or write a sponsor pitch – we need your help!
HOW TO HELP
At present, a number of core volunteer positions are available in the run-up to the festival in April. These can be offered as anything from a few hours a week up to full-time internships in the Festival’s office in Fremont CA. Here’s where you can help:
Do you want to help grow our festival community? You’ll be working with existing community partners, and reaching out to new ones, to help spread the word about the festival.
Are you the kind of person who really knows how to throw a good party? We’re looking for people with the events know-how to make our festival memorible.
Are you organized, detail-oriented and always on top of things? We need a logistics whiz to help with planning and solutions for our Festival activities and programs. You’ll also support the Festival Director and other team members with operations and administration of various Festival projects
Want to work directly with the fashion show or stage directors? We need people who can keep track of and coordinate all the great music artists, comics, actors and speakers performing at the festival.
Are you a social media rockstar? You’ll help us spread the word by creating a campaigns on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and our other social media platforms, as well as creating content for blogs and sourcing other avenues for promotion.
Do you have a knack for raising money? Can you help get donated goods or services? Or do you have an address book full of people who could support a great cause? We want to hear from you!
Have you got great leadership and people skills? We need someone just like you to help us build and organize our lively volunteer community.
Do you care about kids and want to help them experience culture and arts that increase their awareness about the environment? The Festival’s 2014 Kids for the Future Program will take place on at the festival and we are looking for a liaison between the program partners and participants.
All volunteer positions are unpaid, but have other benefits:
– A working environment with many great-minded colleagues and the opportunity to build strong connections in the Bay Area International community.
– A learning experience within the festival world. This is useful experience for those studying or involved with independent festivals, event production, or non-profit arts organizations.
The opportunity to attend Festival meetings, practices and events, also to meet visiting performers and guests.
– Class credit, if applicable. Related majors include Production or Studies, Communications, Business or Arts Administration, Environmental Sciences.
– A great resumé builder!
